Galleries: Red-tailed Hawk

I watched this hawk trying to get comfortable after having landed on a small tree with a lot of skinny, poky bare sticks which prevented the hawk from perching comfortably in spite of adjustments the bird tried to make. In the end perching on solid ground and rocks without poky branches interfering with wings proved preferable at least for the time being.
